Apologies for the hiatus. I have finally ordered a new camera (Nikon D3000), which should arrive any day now and I can't wait to get back into writing on the blog.
In the meantime, Southwark Council has FINALLY signed an agreement with developer Bovis Lend Lease to take on the run-down Elephant & Castle regeneration.
The £1.5 billion deal will start with the demolition of the Heygate - though like this article says, only the partial dismantling of the estate.
So it seems, despite the deal being signed, the area is a long way from getting a proper facelift.
And let's remember - Bovis Lend Lease were also the development partner on the Olympic Village. It couldn't keep up with its funding promises there, and the Olympic Delivery Authority was forced to dig deep into its contingency fund to get the project going.
